My article can be located on the URL:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/05/21/iraq.abu.ghraib.inmate/index.html.The name of the article is Senate passes $91.3 billion war funding bill and it was written by the Associated Press.
The article is about a 91.3 billion dollar war bill that helps provide money for military and diplomatic operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill basically uses some of the money that Obama wanted to spend on removing Guantanamo Bay Debate pretty much fizzled after Democrats retreated and moved to delete from the bill money to close Guantanamo, where about 240 terrorism suspects still are held.
The Pentagon would receive $73 billion under the legislation, including $4.6 billion to train and equip Afghan and Iraqi security forces; $400 million to train and equip Pakistan's security forces, and $21.9 billion to procure new mine-resistant vehicles, aircraft, weapons and ammunition, among other items.
Since more troops are going to be sent to Afghanistan it opens up debate on whether we should be sending more people over than and if we should be spending money over there.
I really am undecided on whether this bill is a right move or not because I can’t predict it’s turnout. But I do believe that we should keep Guantanamo because it could be putting the Nations security at risk.
